Twin Peaks – Sunken

First released in 2012, *Sunken* captures Twin Peaks at their very beginning – a debut stitched together in a basement on a battered Boss CD recorder and an old iMac, made simply so the band would have something to sell on the DIY tour they booked for the summer after high school.

Still teenagers, they learned how to write, record, and exist as a band in real time, playing any room that would have them. Early listeners in the local scene felt it first – a young band moving faster than its surroundings, pulling a community along with it. Word spread through packed basements and weekend shows as the songs revealed unpolished hooks, restless energy, and instinctive charm.

Available on vinyl for the first time in years, this edition presents the record from two perspectives: the original mix by Ziyad Asrar on Side A, and a new mix by Cadien and R. Andrew Humphrey on Side B. The latter brings greater clarity and separation, revealing new detail in the recordings while staying true to their original feel.

*Sunken* remains the clearest document of that early period – raw, immediate, and full of unrealized possibility, capturing the spark just as it took hold.
