about
See Worlds is perspective from the end of a kaleidoscope, as outlook and main characters shift from aggressors to survivors. It introduces a society locked tightly in grids of segregation block to block, big little wars, city to city, the state of each state. Black, white and not among individuals, but the core of a system. The project questions the limitations of how much further margins of the marginalized can be pushed.
Artists cry out through rhymes, between heartbeats, on bloodshed and tears that haven’t stopped flowing as attempts at oppression continue, with attacks at socioeconomic structures, family, health and access to accurate history. Subjugation wears sheep’s clothing more than it ever has with attempts at challenging an awakening, wokeness a bad word, because of refusal to face reflections of hard realities of self. There is a slumber where one’s own fragility is dismissed.
See Worlds speaks to righting wrongs through tight production and lamentation, the only viable answer being to create a new world, one where those perceived as the least of us, the last of us, shall be first. Slowly rise, as we honor the past and how it transforms the future, if only we can know it, sense it, see it.
