SHUGA SAYS:

The Delorean doors have flown open and out has come not Marty McFly nor Doc Brown, but five noble soldiers from another era of psychedelic rock n' roll. Emerging in a giant cloud of reverberated Shakespearian wonder, ready to morph earth as we know it from our business casual to blotter paper, these colonial-clad warriors have finally presented their debut as a gift from their time. Incorporating 60's elements vaguely similar to The Mamas and the Papas, The Zombies, The Doors, and even lost local legends, The Buckinghams, while inviting some modern aspects to stay for a jam like a Before Today-era Ariel Pink, Temples, or Mr. Elevator. Is this from the future of music? The past? All we know is it's out now, and our timeline is blessed to be a welcoming habitat for our Chicago boys in heeled boots.

The “Hypnotic Pandemonium” of Lucille Furs has been alternately described as “poetic rhythm,” “sophisticated and mellow” and “dream beat-pop”. The group describes themselves simply as “baroque pop.” The Music Manual UK describes them as “one of the hottest offerings to come out of Chicago.”  In the field of psychedelic rock, they are unique in their refusal to let the vibe take precedence over the virtue of the song. Peeling the layers might reveal a thinly veiled criticism of over-reporting and under-researching (The Fawn of Teal Deer), or the loneliness of voyeurism (Carrie & Judy).
