Even if you don't speak French or know what Serge Gainsbourg sounds like, looking at this cover gives you a pretty good idea. That word "prevert" sure looks familiar, no? How do you Americans say, "super randy French music?" I can't help but feel like Gainsbourg helped shape the modern day French stereotype, which can really go either way depending on your taste, but it's one of the reasons I love him so. His whole catalog is worth exploring, but this is a compilation of some of his best work during the early years ('59-'69.) DIG IT!!!
