UNCLE SHUG SAYS:
Chi-town Cole's bar hall of famers and jangle post-punk pop engineers of destruction, Dehd have finally unleashed their two latest n most dangerous earworms (S/T, Fire of Love) to do us all one hell of a solid and have forged together a delectable set-o-grooves you won't even wanna wait til dessert to dig in to. Consisting of the cuddliest power trio on this side of Lake Michigan (Jason Balla (Ne-Hi), Emily Kempf, and Eric McGrady), these two EP's melded into one grassy green piece of wax not even Shrek could have pulled out of his ears is a beautiful reminder that the traditional Wire-esque twang of post-punk is seamlessly alive and can meld oh-so-perfectly with a simplistic, yet authentic, approach to home-recording. Truly it's been a long-time coming (too long) for these EP's to recieve a proper welcoming to wax, but hey, we're just grateful for our Dehd (ba-dum-tss).
FFO: Ne-Hi, Cafe Racer, teddy bears, Coles Bar, Empty Bottle, Wire, Omni, HOOPS, Twin Peaks (both the show and the band), long walks on the beach, long drives, long drives on the beach, long beaches on the drive, music you wanna listen to when you wanna make some cuddles
